Michael, 16, failing in school in Vienna, Austria:
Michael is the son of a lawyer but appeared completely apathetic and useless. He was just like a blob with no friends, no interests and didn't talk to his parents except to obey. I suggested the father take him on one of his many train trips and the father said "What would we talk about?" It took six days to get him on the road to recovery. At first there was very little progress as he didn't speak hardly any English and my German was very poor at the time. I took him on a driving trip to the parent's summer home in the Alps. Mostly we played Tootie games and then he could feel important teaching the games to the neighbor's kids. Along the way I boosted his math skills and showed him how to be interesting for girls. Then I arranged for him to be the only boy at an all girl party and he was a tremendous success. Back in Vienna there was lots of communication with his parents and his grades started improving right away. Now, ten years later he is an important engineer for a big electrical company and is very pleased with his improvement.

Kaycee, 15, Delightful but lots of problems
We were working on a ten year old boy with mild brain damage from birth and parents had tried everything before they came to us. After evaluating the family and to keep costs down we asked the mother to find a nearby teenager who knew how to type. She called the local high school and found a delightful, pretty young girl. We were going to use her to help this boy by coming in for three hours each day. But before we could help the boy we had to develop the girl in a hurry. Even tho she could type well she was failing in school and not getting along well with her parents nor her brother. In addition, she was not popular at school.
In three days of intensive effort we transformed her into a good student, fixed her family problems and made her very popular at school. It turns out the girl was brilliant but her environment had not developed her talents. You should read one of her several letters she wrote in appreciation of her improvement. It is amazing that a 15 year old could write such meaningful letters. She did so well with teaching that ten year old boy that she quit her part time job at Burger King and started her own business of helping other kids and was having more fun and making much more money than at Burger King. What a marvelous young girl!

Gloria, 18, failing in everything except art in Madrid
Gloria seemed so nice it was hard to believe that she was failing at almost everything. Her relationship with her parents was terrible as with her boyfriend. She wondered why she was such a disaster. Her father was a high ranking military officer. She hated being in summer school because her grades were so low. Using Tooties we first turned on her math switch and proved to her that she was actually quite bright but because of unknown circomstances she had been left behind.
Once we turned on her switches it was delightful to see her become so eager to learn. Her grades improved dramatically as well as her relationship with her parents. No more fighting. And the boyfriend thing improved so much she went off for a delightful week with him to the Canary Islands.

Lucy, 7, failing in first grade
Imagine, failing in first grade. Her father wanted us to investigate and we quickly found the problem was basically caused by his outside romance and divorce. The mother was devastated and neglecting the child's intellectual development. We told the father that we needed to include the 14 year old sister. The father objected as she was doing fine in school. We gave the father only two choices. Either we get the sister or we can't take the case. The father finally gave in and the results were immediate and marvelous. What we did was turn the sister into a surragate mother. The sister was already quite good but the Tootie experience made her much better at the same time while 7 year old Lucy was improving. That is why parents who want the best for their kids should provide even the smartest kids with the Tootie experience. It brings out all sorts of talents.

Ellen, 19, alcoholic & sex about age 12, Couldn't read
At an early age the parents separated and Ellen was left with her father. He was busy earning a living and with no one watching her she started hanging out with the wrong crowd who were happy to get her drunk in the small beach town of Hermosa Beach in California. She hung out in bars and didn't go to school. The father remarried when Ellen was about 17 and couldn't stand seeing the girl come home drunk very late at night so put her into an alcoholics annonymous program. This dried her out but she was completely useless with no education and could not read at all.
Even with Tooties it took a full five days to teach her to read and build up her self-esteem. She looked terrible when we started but soon started to blossom and became very attractive. Soon she had a good job, learned to drive and started work on getting her high school equivalent. One day during her training we passed a house in a nice neighborhood and she became quite excited. She told the story about how that house was the place where she had been many times for sex parties with lots of teen age girls. How many parents don't know what their kids are doing? Tootie training helps prevent these kinds of problems.

Kathy, 24, school drop out, runaway, and drugs at age 15
Every family should have Tooties and start as young as possible in order to prevent problems. Tooties help build self-esteem and prevent family problems such as those that caused Kathy to run away at age 15. She had now friends and nowhere to go so went to a traveling carnival in town. She hung around til closing time and the staff told her to leave. She said she had no place to go so they said she could sleep there in their trailers. They took good care of her with food and lots of attention and free carnival rides all day. She felt very important. Within a few days she was having sex with a few of the workers and soon all. What a bonanza for the men to have a young girl so available every night. They were so nice to her and provided her with all the alcohol and drugs she wanted. It was a perfect life for a young girl with so much attention from so many men. She traveled with the carnival as it moved around.
When the carnival passed thru Santa Barbara she became exposed to the better looking young drug addicts who hung around the university and they made her feel very welcome so she left the carnival. Now she had a more affluent set of sex partners. I asked her why she left and she said that the carnival workers smelled bad, didn't shave and were almost always drunk. I asked if she minded all the sex with some 20 or so workers each night. She said that was no big deal as she would just lay there and they would come in and do their thing. It was over quickly so she could relax the rest of the evening. The university crowd was a much cleaner group. Somehow she enrolled in another California university but was just putting in her time as many students do.
Her father, a nearby dermatologist, asked if we could help someone who didn't want any help. We said probably but it would be much more difficult so he provided a picture and an address at the university. We can't reveal how we did it but so much was accomplished on one weekend that she begged for more. What an amazing transformation! Not only was she very beautiful but we proved to her how talented she was. Now she teaches others and we have helped with her difficult cases.

Marilee, 28, suicidal visitor from Sweden
Marilee was taking a year off from her high level job in Sweden and enjoying the US with her friend Maritza and working as an Au Pair taking care of wealthy people's children. It was a perfect life until we got a call at 2:am after she had cut her wrists because of romantic problems. We drove down to pick her up, give her first aid and in the next few days gave her back her self-esteem. What a marvelous young woman, so beautiful and so much fun to be with. After she returned to Sweden and told her parents we were invited to come to Sweden in appreciation of having saved their daughter's life.
It was a small town south of the capital and the lakes were still frozen. She was well known by almost everyone. As the train pulled into the station I was impressed by all the people waving flags and welcoming me as I was the only one getting off the train. Everyone was so warm and friendly. I even learned to eat some of their strange foods. They provided a nice place to live, took me everywhere and covered all my expenses. I enjoyed it so much I stayed for about three months. It was as if I were part of their family. There was even an article about me with my picture on the front page of the newspaper. As a result other people wanted help with their children so I returned to Sweden every year for several years until other European countries wanted our services. Soon, many countries over there were using Tooties.

Maritza, 21, just a blob among her friends in Sweden
Maritza was of average looks and to me very warm and friendly but among her friends she was just a follower. She saw the transformation I had made with her friend Marilee so asked if I could transform her also. She called her parents back in Sweden to get approval and came to Los Angeles for five intensive days. She was so pleased with the results she got another five days and wanted even more but I was busy the following week. When I was available we had another week and Maritza returned to Sweden. Her friend Marilee could hardly believe the transformation. She was now more beautiful and self-confident. She was so pleased she even arranged for me to have a free apartment for a summer near her in Upsalla, Sweden.

Maraika, 19, hyperactive disaster in Sweden
Maraika was diagnosed as brain damaged at age 10 as she was very hyperactive and not learning. She was a total disaster in spite of having a wonderful mother who was an excellent teacher of children with such problems. The mother discovered us when Maraika was 19 and asked if we could help in hopeless cases where everything else had been tried.
The mother was right. Maraika could drive anyone crazy, hyperactive, poor in school, no friends, etc. We started with some simple Tootie exercises and in spite of repeated failure we persevered. It was miserable, hard work trying to get thru to her but within a week the door opened and we found a remarkable, interesting girl inside who was very eager to learn. She was delighted to discover we could find no evidence of brain damage and became a real pleasure to teach. Now we needed to fill in all the holes in her education that were missed and this took about two weeks more. During the therapy she asked if the Tooties system could help someone who was depressed. She said she had a former good friend named Joselyn who became severely depressed at age 14 and with her own problems the friendship was lost.
Maraika turned out so wonderful we took her to a convention of about 10,000 very high level business people and all who met her were amazed at what a sharp young lady she was and had no idea of her difficult background. She enrolled in college and went on to study medicine. The nice thing about the Tooties System is that almost anything is possible, even hopeless cases.

Joselyn, 19, severely depressed since 14 in Sweden
Children keep many secrets from their parents. When Joselyn started in her depression they took her to all kinds of therapists but no one was able to help. We started with some fun Tootie games as Joselyn had been a good gymnast. This helped build her self-esteem and opened communication lines. After about a week we found the possible causes of her depression. At age 14 she was taken to London with her parents. Somehow she had brief sex with an older boy. The boy told her she wasn't very good so naturally she felt pretty bad. Later when she had occassion to have sex again it wasn't very good either and she felt something was wrong with her. With Tooties she started to blossom very quickly and within three weeks was completely normal and delightful.

Marcos, 27, seeing psychiatrist since age 4 in Brazil
Marcos was nice looking but he looked lost and sad with no friends and no purpose in life. He had been seeing continually over the years without much success. Within three days with the Tooties system he was elated and excited about being quite normal. At first it looked like I would not be successful but all of sudden I found some of his switches and turned them on. Unfortunately for our readers we can not reveal the cause which is fairly common in most parts of the world.

Laura, 21, Severe auto accident at age 14 in Mexico
Imagine being a vegetable for seven years, being locked up in a small room, seeing psychiatrists twice a week and having to take some powerful drugs. We had her memory back in four days and in a total of three weeks she was quite normal. This was one of my most memorable experiences as she was really a wonderful person.

Vicky, 21, Told she was stupid because she couldn't read
Her parents had taken her regularly to the school of optometry for therapy but it didn't work. Even with Tooties it seemed like an impossible case. She was very emotional and cried a lot but we kept searching and one day a clue showed up. Once that problem was fixed we were able to teach her to read and she went on to college.

Christian, 29, Depression from brain damage in Vienna, Austria
He had caught syphilis when he was about 20 visiting Paris and it had progressed to the third stage injuring his brain. At this point the doctors were successful at halting the progress of the disease. His golf game suffered as well as his romance. It took a week and he was back to normal and after ten years was still doing fine.

Chris, 35, Born brain damaged, No therapy seemed to work
I was teaching a class to physical therapists in Holland and one therapist asked if I could take a look at her impossible case who had seen many therapists without much success. He had a wonderful personality but his balance was terrible, his hands could not be unclentched and trembled so much he couldn't write. After some preliminary Tootie tests we determined that the Tootie Launcher might be the most effective tool. It is hard to believe that we worked on him steadily for five hours without much progress. But when the therapist left with him for the long drive back home things began to happen. He said it was if sparks were shooting out the ends of his fingers. He improved so much it was hard to believe and he writes about one letter a month to Dr. Tootie.

Viveca, 28, Paralyzed after auto accident in Holland
Viveca suffered a terrible car accident about a year before but still was in terrible shape with very poor movement. The medical doctors and therapists had done all they could and considered any improvement hopeless. Then another medical doctor who knew about the power of Tooties asked if Dr. Hanson could take a look. As he examined her she really did look like nothing could be done but our policy is "Never give up" so we asked the family to go out and borrow someone's little girl of about eight. While we were improving the little girl with Tooties Viveca was watching and probably thinking of her own two children who had been taken away by the husband who had abandoned her and found another wife.
The next step was to partially involve the little girl with Viveca. Dr. Hanson and his assistant Thea were guiding the process depending how Viveca was progressing. It was very hard work and all done thru a translator and demonstrating. In about five hours of this intensive therapy Viveca was actually throwing and catching with the paralyzed left arm. It was like a miracle happening before your eyes. Everyone was watching including the family, therapist and doctor. Fortunately it was all videotaped so others can see the before and after along with the details of the therapy. We had given Viveca and her family the dream that yes, she could be improved with continuing Tooties therapy.
Most of these accident cases that we have done take several weeks or even months to get such results. We were just lucky in this case. What it shows is that in the right hands and with the right techniques Tooties can do miracles. We don't want to give anyone false hope but remember to "Never give up".

Nellie, 68, Eight years of Electro shock therapy
Nellie had been a professor but then started acting strangely so the psychiatrists started her on heavy drugs. When those didn't work they started her on electro shock therapy about once a month. It kept her under control but didn't cure her so the sister who had used Tooties at school asked if Tooties would work with older people. Dr. Hanson likes to visit patients in their home environment so drove across Los Angeles to the suburb of La Crescenta and had dinner with the family. Later he was playing with Nellie on the floor of the living room with lots of Tooties. Everything he tested seem quite normal so he asked if he could spend the night there. In the morning the sisters made a wonderful breakfast and in about four hours at the breakfast table Dr. Hanson had completely cured Nellie much to the delight of the sister. It turns out she had some deep, hidden secrets that none of the psychiatrists had been able to discover. Once we brought these to light, because of the Tooties therapy, Nellie discovered for herself that she was quite normal and it was her hidden secret that had imprisoned her. The sister was never aware of this secret and had always wondered why Nellie had gone

Josef, 39, Psychiatric therapy since a little boy
Josef wasn't so bad that he had to be institutionalized but his parents had sent him everywhere for help. First, all over his country of Holland, then England and Spain, etc. all without much help. His figure was fine and so was his speech. He could swim and do almost anything but lived alone with no friends, either male or female. Anyone observant could see that he was not all there. He was into strange oriental things in his house hoping they would help.
Dr. Hanson arrived and took him away from his environment. The first three or four days were miserable for both but finally Dr. Hanson was beginning to get him under control. In seven days he had improved enough so a young girl could be brought into the therapy. She had been a runaway so needed help also. Dr. Hanson had put together a perfect match with each helping the other. By twelve days he was quite normal and released with a set of Tooties so he could continue to improve on his own. The last five days working with the girl of 18 was an incredible experience as Josef had the most beautiful smile and was so happy to know that he was finally quite normal. In the closing days of his therapy he had said this was the strangest therapy he had ever done and so different from all the traditional therapies.

Oscar, 2, Temper tantrums and hyperactive in Mexico
Most parents don't get an "owners manual" when they have a baby and should they find one it won't work on the second baby. Thus parents are sort of flying blind as they often don't believe their own parents and many books on children are quite poor, even some with well known authors. Many parts could be good but it's the critical parts where many authors fail. Be very cautious about following advice on child raising from pediatricians as they don't even know much about their own children. The best advice is usually from an elementary teacher who has raised her own children successfully.
In this case there was nothing really wrong with Oscar. It was just a matter of educating the parents and the problem was solved. Dr. Hanson can cure these types of problems in a matter of hours using Tooties. Parents can then continue the Tooties therapy and soon the child does it on his own.

Berta, 4, Could not talk in Costa Rica
Dr. Hanson's picture had appeared on the front page of a newspaper along with the teachers he was helping at a school for learning disability children. Berta's parents were quite wealthy and had taken her to all kinds of specialists and they could find no reason why she didn't talk. The two older sisters, 8 and 10, talked fine. First they called to see if Dr. Hanson was available and he said he could take a look over the weekend if they could pick him up. Berta's city was about three hours drive away. Dr. Hanson asked that Berta be brought but not the sisters. On the drive back Dr. Hanson played Tooties with Berta and found her to be quite sharp and alert but still not talking. It was very puzzling.
In most cases Dr. Hanson believes in doing what he calls a "Home Analysis" where he checks every room, and includes the yard and any pets. In this case he could see right away why the little girl wouldn't talk so asked the parents to convert one room into a complete play room with ladders, ropes for swinging and a new mattress, just for jumping and somersaults.
Like many such cases the problem was caused inadvertently by the parents as things had changed from when they had the first girls to the time Berta was being raised. By the end of the weekend she was talking fine.

Derek, 27, Could not talk after 20 years in institution
At about 25 the crazy hospital in Holland released him back to his parents but he was like a vegetable. He didn't talk at all and sat in a chair with his arms bobbing up and down all day. One of the physical therapists, who had taken our Tooties workshop, told the parents about us so they invited us to come take a look. If you have visited many crazy hospitals you would have observed that this repetitive behavior is quite common. It is quite distressing to visit those places as many aren't crazy at all, at least not when put there.
When Dr. Hanson arrived he sat in front of the young man and watched and wondered what could be done to improve him after all those years in the crazy hospital. Thru the translator he asked the mother what she would like and the answer was very simple. She asked if we could get him to talk so she would know what he wanted when he would make all kinds of strange gestures. In about three hours Dr. Hanson had him talking but not very well so the delighted family then brought in a speech therapist. Part of the secret was to get the little ten year old sister involved in working with her brother so he wanted to talk.

Bodil, 16, Had 8 eye surgeries and still cross eyed
Her father was a big time lawyer in Holland and didn't know that crossed eyes may often be cured without surgery, usually when vision training is given by a developmental optometrist by the age of four and of course should include Tooties. The father was quindretic in that he didn't know what he didn't know so over the years Bodil had five surgeries on one eye and three on the other. Since no vision training was done to teach the brain how to control the eyes they became crossed again after awhile.
The father brought this beautiful 16 year old girl in and right away Dr. Hanson saw that there were many things he could do to help her but there was one serious problem. The father was overbearing, obnoxious and was trying to tell everyone what to do so we had to refuse to accept the case. What a shame as the girl had the most adorable personality, unlike that of the father. We would have loved to help her.

Tineke, 32, Frequent migraines and vomiting in Holland
This is a very long, interesting story but this wonderful woman with a heart of gold recovered so well she gave up being just a housewife and mother. She went back to school, graduated as a secretary and became an outstanding secretary to a professor at the technical university. Part of the secret was to teach her how to help others with Tooties and in so doing she built up her self-esteem tremendously and overcame her stress.

Ronnie, 27, Recovering from drug treatment program
He had been released from the crazy hospital and was now in a half way treatment center but was not doing well. He was heavily medicated by the staff and even so was difficult to control. The staff wanted to send him back to the crazy hospital. The director had heard about Tooties and wondered if they could help in this most difficult case. With the whole staff watching Dr. Hanson had Ronnie under control in less than three hours and very cooperative. What a nice young man to help but the director's staff had wanted Dr. Hanson to fail so they would have a good reason to send him back to the crazy hospital.
We hate to say this but in many institutions like this around the world the goal of the staff is not to improve the patients but just to keep the status quo by medicating them heavily.

Richard, 16, Brain Damage and the cost of not believing
It is very difficult to be a parent, even of a normal, healthy child because so much depends on your manner of nurturing. Babies don't come with an "owner's manual" and every child is different and they change as they age. By the time a parent learns how to handle their two year old they are now three and could be very different. Thus even the most interested parents tend to be always behind. The wise ones will seek advice but must factor in that not all advice is good, even from pediatricians, so parents need to learn to discriminate in sorting the good from the bad. Even very popular authors could have some parts of their books that you should question and not follow. In general we think the best advice is from elementary teachers who are raising successful children that you would like yours to be like. What you should want is results, not theory so the next best choice would be any parent whose children you admire. Often they will say they don't know what they do but feel them out as they are doing something right.
Now, put yourself in the shoes of a parent whose child is born brain damaged. Often one doesn't find out for a year or so when you become aware they are not developing as expected. It is devastating news for any parent, especially when confirmed by a doctor. You have all the problems of bad advice of a parent with normal children now compounded by one with problems. After many years of struggling many parents give up and this is certainly understandable. Other parents haven't given up completely but have had so many bad experiences that they become overly cautious about any new ideas the come across. It is prudent to be suspicious and cautious where your child is concerned but the flip side is that it can cost years of lost development which might be hard to replace as the best time of that development may have passed. We feel it is possible to usually go back and capture those missing developments but maybe not as effectively as could have happened if done at the right time of development.
In a nutshell we are suggesting that just because you have tried all the therapies you have heard about does not mean that there is not another therapy, unknown to you, that could dramatically help your child. By all means investigate to see if it really works by talking to other parents and professionals who have used it successfully. Be careful about talking to those who used it unsuccessfully as they probably didn't follow the instructions as well as they should. In the case of handicapped children, it is essential that parents become really involved. Having someone else do it without your help usually does not work. If you are too busy, lazy, unable or for some other reason not able to get involved then our therapy is not likely to work.
We can accomplish miracles with almost anyone but we must have the right environment. The most important thing for you is not to take too long in deciding if you should go ahead because several years could be wasted as in the case of Richard. His parents are well educated, sharp and very caring but they just couldn't believe that the Tooties system works and by the time they really got involved and realized that it does work some three years have gone by. It is still not too late and hardly ever is too late but just becomes more difficult which could increase the costs. Hardly anyone has unlimited resources so things have to be balanced carefully. We can help by offering possible options. Remember the word "Quindrexia" which is the state of not knowing what you don't know. First you have to discover that Tooties exist and have been successful for about 40 years all over the world and then investigate to see if you believe they would be appropriate for your child. We know they would be but you must believe. We don't want you to waste your money and time on something you don't believe in. Just because you and many others don't know that something exists does not mean that it doesn't exist. When you decide that you want a certain model of a car all of a sudden you see them everywhere. Once you know Tooties exist and know where to look you will see them everywhere helping lots of children and even adults.
Tooties have their sad parts also. If learning disability teachers used them more they might cure all the children and then lose their jobs. For example: A big nursing home chain bought Tooties as they could motivate patients in bed to get into wheelchairs to go eat their meals in the dining room and thus save the expenses of having their meals delivered to their beds. They wanted proof so we took an old lady of 83 who had been in bed for several years and within a few hours she was in a wheelchair playing with Tooties. About a year later we met the therapist from their center and she said the director had prohibited the use of Tooties except when the state inspectors are expected. I asked why and she said the 83 year old lady improved so much with Tooties that she had checked out of their center and went back home which cost them revenue. In other words they don't want patients to improve so much they leave.
So schools for handicapped children need to be aware that if Tooties were used they might lose some of their patients. The wisest directors say "Please help as many as possible so then we can help others". |
